RWANDAN REFUGEES ORGANIZATION REGARDING THE RWANDAN GOVERNMENT’S DECISION TO ESTABLISH A LIST OF 25 RWANDAN REFUGEES DECLARED TERRORISTS WITHOUT A TRIA

general kayumba nyamwasa and paul kagame

The Rwandan Refugees Organization strongly rejects the establishment of a list of 25 refugees accused by the Kagame administration of being terrorists threatening Rwanda’s peace. The organization brings to the attention of the international community that the Rwandans on this list live abroad as refugees.

The Kagame administration continues to harass Rwandan refugees wherever they are, assassinating some and abducting others. The Rwandan government should be the first to be accused of state terrorism, practiced in neighboring countries like Burundi and the Democratic Republic of Congo, by assassinating UN peacekeepers and Rwandan refugees.

Given the above, it’s high time this Rwandan oligarchy was brought before international justice. The Rwandan Refugees Organization will combat all criminal acts and intentions used by the Rwandan government to discredit and harm Rwandan refugees.

This list is published to distract from the difficult situation the RPF(Rwanda Patriotic Front) government is facing. Instead of manipulating international opinion, the RPF government should understand that it’s time to convene all Rwandans around a table to discuss and make decisions on good governance, aiming for the well-being of the Rwandan people.

Therefore, we, the spokespersons for the Rwandan Refugees Organization, address the international community, countries hosting Rwandan refugees, and particularly those hosting the 25 Rwandans on the RPF government’s list, the following : 1. The Organization recalls that this list is a weapon used by the RPF government to harm Rwandan refugees and demands that all countries ignore these lies.

  1. The Organization demands that the international community compel the RPF to release all political prisoners and open up political space in Rwanda.
  2. The Organization demands that the RPF withdraw its military forces from the NEIGHBORING D R Congo.
  3. The Organization calls on the individuals on the list and all Rwandan refugees not to be distracted by these MANEUVERS, instead to continue fighting the RPF’s terror.

To the RPF government:
Stop these lists and accusations, and convene a national dialogue to discuss democratic change and aim for peace, concord, development, and social well-being for all Rwandans.
