MALAWI:COURT ADJOURNS A RWANDAN NATIONAL HOMICIDE CASE INUnknown Date
The High Court sitting in Lilongwe has failed to resume hearing the case of the Rwandan Nationals, Gilimata Gentile and Rafick Munyamagaju, who are answering charges of maliciously murdering Mr. Emily Noel Habimana who was the ex husband to the former.
The Court had previously directed that the case would resume on Wednesday the 12th of June, 2024 to decide on the Applications by the defence objecting the results of Autopsy report as they alleged that the postmortem was short of the standards required by the Law.
The court was expected to deliver the ruling after getting the formal application and response from the state.
As we went to press, there were no reports indicating that either party had filed with the registry prompting the court to adjourn the case sine die.
The suspects are still in custody and they are answering the murder charge which is contrary to section 209 of the Penal Code and have the capital punishment of life sentence in Prison.
